Dan Lowry 400 Winner: #07 Clint Bowyer
May 5, 2008: In the FASCAR Thunder Cup Series, Rookie Player Richard Staley's 774 points blew past Rookie Players Glenn Shevshenko's 736 points to win the Dan Lowry 400. This is Richard Staley 2nd win of the 2008 season. Richard's 1st win came back on Feb 25 2008 at the Auto Club Speedway the event was the Auto Club 500. Richard Staley becomes the 2nd Player in the 2008 season to win 2 races. Glenn Shevshenko Jr. with 736 points comes home with 2nd Place. This is Glenn's best finish of his career and his 1st Top 5 & 1st Top 10 of the season. Walter Pierce with 729 points comes home with 3rd Place. This is Walter's best finish of his career and his 1st Top 5 & 2 Top 10 of the season. Danean Hamm with 728 points comes home with 4th Place. Danean has been struggling of late and this is her best finish of 2008 since the Atlanta race back in March where she finished 2nd. Kevin Vincavage with 708 points comes home with 5th Place. Kevin has now finished every Richmond Race 5th. That is a pretty wild stat. Dan Lowry 400 Results FTCS ROTY Standings: May 6, 2008: In the FASCAR Thunder Cup Series Rookie of the Year Standings, Louie Gallardo has kept his lead in the Rookie Standings after missing the Aaron's 499 & now the Dan Lowry 400 but, only leads now by 1 point over Richard Staley & Shawn Shevshenko. Richard Staley was the top scoring Rookie at the Dan Lowry 400 with a 1st place finish which gave him 15 ROTY Pts. Other Rookies getting points this week where Glenn Shevshenko Jr (12), Walter Pierce (10), CJ Marsaw (5) Jay Smogolski (4), Ken Wolfe (3) & Paul Ouderkirk (1) FTCS Rookie Standings FTCS Standings: May 5, 2008: In the FASCAR Thunder Cup Series Standings, Karen Smith has now held onto the #1 spot for the 7th week in a row. Karen Smith comes home with a 22nd Place Finish this week at the Dan Lowry 400. Last weeks #2 Player Jason Pruett struggled at the Richmond Int'l Raceway this weekend coming home with a 33rd Place Finish this is Jason's worstest finish of the season. So now the question is can Philip Hamm take over the #2 spot from Jason Pruett. Philip Hamm comes home with a 15th Place finish and takes over the #2 spot in the FTCS Standings. Jason Pruett moves down 1 spot into 3rd. Staying in the 4th Spot is Randy Dorris and rounding out the Top 5 and moving up 3 spots is Paul Ouderkirk. Going to the Richmond Int'l Raceway Did you Know? That Mitch Zukowski was sitting 42nd in the FTCS Standings after Week 5 and know is sitting in the Top 10 at 6th Place. Players to watch for this Weekend: Carol Siddens finished this race last spring 2nd to Mitch Zukowski and finished 8th last fall. Carol Siddens is still searching for her 1st Top 5 & Top 10 of the season and would like to get herself back into the Top 20. After falling out of the Top 20 after the Texas Race. Kevin Vincavage finished both races last year 5th. Kevin finds himself in the 14th spot in the FTCS Standings after falling out of the Top 10 after missing the Goody's Cool Orange 500 at the Martinsville Speedway so, watch for Kevin to fight himself back into the Top 10 this weekend at the Richmond Int'l Raceway. Randy Dorris won the fall race at the Richmond Int'l Raceway the Chevy Rock & Roll 400, tho only finished 16th in the Spring Race. But, you can never count out the defending FTCS Champion Randy because he sure has been coming on strong lately and finds himself in the 4th in the FTCS Standings.
