FASCAR Thunder Cup Series Official Rules and How to Play in 2008:

1. Introduction:
  • The FTCS-FASCAR Thunder Cup Series is a FREE NSCS-NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Fantasy League to play and their is age limit to play:
    5 years old and older.
  • The 2007 FTCS season brought us 28 player's at the start and I hope that we can grow larger in the 2nd Season of Play.
  • The 2008 FTCS season will allow 43 players to play.
    The 2007 FTCS Players will start signing up for the 2008 FTCS season:
    Sunday December 16th 2007 at 12:00 PM (CT) and will run until Sunday January 6th 2008 at 12:00 PM (CT).
    This will allow the 2007 FTCS Players a Guaranted spot in the 2008 Season.
    NEW FTCS Players/Rookies will start signing up for the 2008 FTCS season:
    Sunday January 6th 2008 at 12:30 PM (CT)
    If a NEW Player sign's up before the Jan 6th 2008 Sign Up period, I will put you on the FTCS waiting list and you will have to re-sign up on Jan 6th 2008.

  • After you submit your registration I will send you a confirmation e-mail that you have been accepted into the FTCS.
    Remember, you are not officially in the FTCS until you receive your confirmation e-mail from the FTCS President.
  • If you have signed up for the FTCS and don't make the 43 player field you then will be added to the FTCS waiting list/call up list.
  • If a opening comes available in the 2008 FTCS then the first person on the waiting list will be called up to play in the 2008 FTCS season.
  • When you get called up to play in the 2008 FTCS season and e-mail will be sent out to you letting you know that you have been called up to play.
  • You will then have to reply back to me before the deadline which will be the: FRIDAY before the next race at 11:00 PM (CT) to be qualified for that next race.
  • If a player doesn't reply back to me before the deadline then the next player on the waiting list will be called up.
    (NEW) The way a person get's removed from the 2008 FTCS season is by missing 3 consecutive races or a total of 5 races during the 2008 FTCS Season. If a person get's removed from the 2008 FTCS Season for these reason or any other reason then they will have to resign up in 2009.
    2. How to Play:
  • The FTCS gives you the opportunity to pick 6 different NSCS drivers each week.
  • The 6 NSCS drivers that you pick much be in a different group set by the Top 35 Drivers in the Official NSCS Owner Standings.
  • The first 5 races drivers will be set by the Final 2007 NSCS Owner Standings.
  • After that drivers will be set by the Official 2008 NSCS Owner Standings.
  • After each event/race your team/drivers will reset.

  • If you fail to pick 6 new drivers by the lock time set each week you will not get any points for that event which is a
  • DNP= Did Not Pick.
    You will be allowed to change your drivers if needed up to the locked time set each week.
  • If the race is on a Sunday then the picks will be locked on Saturday night at 11:00 PM (CT)
  • If a race is on a Saturday night then the picks will locked on Saturday morning at 10:00 AM (CT)
  • Subject to change if needed for personal reason's.

  • Just a few notes to Remember:
  • Each Tuesday NASCAR does post a ENTRY LIST for that week-end race. If there is any driver changes I will make them then.
  • If you pick a driver and there is a Substitute Driver made, you will get those points for that car number that you picked.
  • I do post everyone's picks once they are locked. Those Picks will be posted about and hour or so afterwards after they Lock.
  • I do send out and e-mail to everyone letting them know that I have updated the site with the Player's Official Race Picks.
  • I do sometimes make and error when typing, so make sure that you write down your WEEKLY PICKS. If you do see and error let me know ASAP or you see that you have a DNP for that week-end's race and you did send me your WEEKLY PICKS then send me and e-mail ASAP.

  • If the race is on a Sunday you will have until Sunday at 11:00 AM (CT) to send me and e-mail back with your picks.
    If a race is on a Saturday night you will have until Saturday at 12:00 PM (CT) to send me and e-mail back with your picks.
    After that the WEEKLY PICKS will be Official Locked.

    3. Scoring System:
  • The game will follow the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series scoring system.
  • Determining a winner each week the player's will choose 6 NSCS drivers per race.
  • I add up each player's 6 NSCS drivers and that will determine their race points for each event.
  • Those race points will then determine the results of each event and how the standing points will be given out.
  • Series scoring will be completed once NASCAR posts the official race results each week and I update the website.

  • (NEW) 5 bonus points will now be awarded to the player or player's that pick the winning driver each week. Those 5 bonus points will be added to your final STANDING POINTS each week.

    Race Errors/Changes if you add up your points and find an error, let Me know by the Friday after the Official Results have been posted. This way action can be taken to fix the error before the next race. After that the results are frozen and can no longer be changed.
    FTCS Points Explained

    4. Chase to the Thunder Cup 2008:
  • Just like the Chase to the Sprint Cup there will be a Chase to the Thunder Cup.

  • The top 10 players that qualify for the chase their points will reset at 7,000 points after the event at the Richmond Int'l Raceway (9/6/08).
  • The top 10 players that qualify for the Chase will then receive a 10-point bonus for each victory they had during the first 26 races.
  • The Chase Players will then be "seeded" to start the Chase based on the number of wins amassed during the first 26 races.
  • If you win the Chase to the Thunder Cup 2008 there is a Trophy to win.

  • The number of contenders for the Chase to the Thunder Cup is ten (10).
    5. Dash to 11th 2008:
    (NEW) to the 2008 Season of the FASCAR Thunder Cup Series is the Dash to 11th 2008.
  • The players that are seeded 11th to 20th in the standing after the Richmond Int'l Raceway (9/6/08) their points will reset at 5,000 points.
  • Players that qualfiy for the Dash to 11th will then receive a 10-point bonus for each victory they had during the first 26 races.
  • The Dash Players will be "seeded" to start the Dash based on the number of wins amassed during the first 26 races.
  • If you win the Dash to 11th 2008 there is a Plaque to win.
  • The other players that don't make the CHASE or the DASH can still play during this time.

  • The number of contenders for the Dash to 11th is ten (10).
    6. Weekly Tiebreaker:
    In the event that more than one player has the same points after the race, the following tiebreaker is used:
  • 1. The players choice of the Tiebreaker Driver will be their tie breaker. Whoever's driver finishes ahead of the others, wins that tie.
  • 2. If the players who tied have the same Tiebreak Driver, the player highest in FTCS Standings points entering the race will win the tie.
  • 3. The player that has the most wins during the season.
  • 4. The player that has the most top 5's during the season.
  • 5. The player that has the most top 10's during the season.
    If there is a Tie in the First Week, I will use the Final 2007 FTCS Standings. To determine a winner.
    THE TIEBREAKER DRIVER WILL ONLY BE USED IF THERE IS A TIE
    7. Winning the Thunder Cup:
    The player that finishes with the highest points after the Chase to the Thunder Cup is deemed the league CHAMPION.
    In the event that more than one player has the same points after the chase, the following tiebreaker is used:
  • 1. The player that has the most wins during the season.
  • 2. The player that has the most top 5's during the season.
  • 3. The player that has the most top 10's during the season.
  • 4. The player that has the most Race Total Points for the Season.
    8. Winning the FTCS Rookie of the Year Award:
    (NEW) In order to be eligible for the FTCS Rookie of the Year award, a player must be in six events or more. If a player falls out of this, then that player will be removed from the FTCS Rookie of the Year Standings.
    (NEW) Each Rookie player will receive bonus points for finishing in the Top 10 for each race.
  • If a Rookie wins the race, that player will receieve 15 points.
  • If a Rookie finshes the race 2nd, that player will receive 12 points.
  • If a Rookie finshes the race 3rd, that player will receive 10 points.
  • If a Rookie finshes the race 4th, that player will receive 8 points.
  • If a Rookie finshes the race 5th, that player will receive 6 points.
  • If a Rookie finshes the race 6th, that player will receive 5 points.
  • If a Rookie finshes the race 7th, that player will receive 4 points.
  • If a Rookie finshes the race 8th, that player will receive 3 points.
  • If a Rookie finshes the race 9th, that player will receive 2 points.
  • If a Rookie finshes the race 10th, that player will receive 1 points.
  • If you win the FTCS Rookie of the Year Award there is a Plaque to win.

  • All Points received by a Rookie will go into the ROTY Standings.
    9. FASCAR SHOOTOUT:
  • Only the 2008 FASCAR Thunder Cup Series winners and the 2008 FASCAR Shootout Champion are eligable to play in the 2009 FASCAR Shootout.
